Product Description: Fixed or controllable elliptical section external solar shading system, for installation at any angle on the building, designed to reduce glare and solar heat gain.

Configuration of the system is determined by the building’s geometry/ requirements for solar shading/ the architect.
Buildings Functional Aesthetic Requirements – wide range of louvre profiles & finishes available
Extruded Aluminium Fin Profiles – designed to reduce direct radiation while maintaining good visibility through the windows.
Comprises extruded hollow sectioned louvres to optimize their weight/ strength ratio.

Controllable systems are designed to operate the movable louvres to ensure that the solar shading is effective whilst daylight entry is optimized
Fixing: Fixed to Steel RHS posts, connected to steel beams at roof level and connected to concrete foundations at ground level / Provided with aluminium side plates with bracketry suitable for fixing into curtain walling / onto concrete / onto brickwork / onto steelwork.
Structural Considerations:
  • Complete system designed to withstand windloads in BS6399 Part 2
    Sub-contractor should note that the louvre elements will be subjected to additional aerodynamic effects not covered in BS6399.
  • Deflection of aluminium fin limited to span/200, supporting steel limited to span/250
  • Accommodation of thermal movement. Works shall accommodate change in dimension resulting from changes in temperature in any of its part, supporting bracketry, without any reduction in performance below the minimum levels required herein.

    light colour -20oC to + 50oC
    dark colour -20oC to + 65oC

Dimensions: Eliptical shaped blades are (select) 150/200/250/300/350/400/250mm deep and 34/34/40/50/55/60mm high mounted between supports
Blade Pitch and Angle: Pitch= **mm Degrees to horizontal= **degrees (fixed systems only)
Material: Fins= extruded aluminium alloy 6063 T6 Fixings= stainless steel grade A2
Finish: Mill aluminium / Polyester powder to RAL colour / Anodised
Control Methods: Turning Range of max 100o by electrical (360o- Colt PIA mullion)
Control Rod connected to end plates ensures a smooth mechanical linkage
